Structural Components Of Boom Welding Machine

The welding manipulator is a special equipment that is combined with a welding roller frame, a welding positioner, etc. to automatically weld the internal and external circumferential seams, corner welds, and internal and external longitudinal seams of components. There are various structural forms. Among them, the boom welding machine is mainly composed of a column, a horizontal arm, a sliding guide rail, a welding head, etc.


 

1. Column:

The column is the supporting structure of the boom welding machine, which is usually installed vertically to support the arm and its related equipment. The column is designed to be sturdy and can provide the necessary stability to support the overall structure.
 

2. Horizontal arm:

The horizontal arm is one of the core components of the boom welding machine. It is connected to the column and can be moved and adjusted in the horizontal direction. The length and extension range of the arm directly determine the size of the working area of ​​the welding machine.
The arm can be designed to be telescopic so that the length can be adjusted during the welding process to adapt to workpieces of different sizes.
 

3. Sliding guide rail:

The guide rail is used to support the movement of the welding head on the arm, so that it can slide along the horizontal path of the arm. This design increases the operability and working range of the welding head.
The accuracy and stability of the guide rails are critical to the quality of welding, and high-precision linear guide rail systems are usually used.
 

4. Welding head (welding gun or welding device):

The welding head is the part that actually performs the welding work and is usually assembled at the end of the boom. It can move up and down, forward and backward, and rotate at different angles to achieve flexibility and diversity in welding.
The welding head can be configured with different types of welding equipment as needed, such as TIG welding, MIG welding or plasma welding devices.
 

5. Control system:

Modern column and boom welding machine is usually equipped with advanced control systems that can realize automatic operation. The control system includes a touch screen, programming interface and remote control function, and the operator can set welding parameters and procedures.
Some systems also integrate sensors and monitoring equipment to achieve real-time monitoring and adjustment during the welding process.
 

6. Drive device:

Column and boom welding machine usually use electric, hydraulic or pneumatic drive devices to achieve the movement of the boom and welding head. Electric drive is more common and has the characteristics of precise control and low noise.
The design of the drive device directly affects the movement speed and accuracy of the equipment.
 

7. Foundation and fixtures:

In order to ensure the stability of the column and boom welding machine during operation, the bottom is usually provided with a solid foundation structure or base, and is equipped with fixtures to fix the operator in the work area when necessary.
 
The arm-type welding operator achieves flexible welding operations and a large trial range through the above components. It can weld at different heights and angles, which is very suitable for welding large workpieces or on production lines that require long welding times.
